Within each collection, the designer's own vision is apparent, though some more conspicuously than others. Amongst these though, a few common trends were apparent. BAROQCO shine at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week

Husband and wife duo, Eduardo and Imelda, created the brand when searching for a tiara for their wedding ceremony; eventually resorting to create their own. Despite travelling the globe, the pair credit Paris as the place where their love for exquisite jewellery was born. From their studio in La Maison BaroQco, the couture couple aim to create timeless jewellery, inspired by its name-sake Baroque style. The Spring/Summer '19 collection held true to the baroque tradition in its ornate, audacious style, substantial yet intricate; but is uplifted by way of unexpected pops of colour in the various stones and crystals used.

The most important week in fine jewellery is Paris Haute Couture week, where - at the beginning of July - all of the biggest jewellery maisons showcase their latest collections. In this article, we’ll show you some of the most spectacular designs from Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Chaumet and Louis Vuitton writes Jodie Smith.   Cartier’s ‘Magnitude’ collection is full of briolettes, angular motifs, amd appendages emulating rays of light and explosions of colour.   In this line, the brand has chosen to play with the contrast between a host of different types of materials; gems, minerals and precious stones.

Anna Hu is an international jewelry designer, born in Taiwan and educated in the U.S., who approaches her art with a distinctly East meets West philosophy and aesthetic that is heavily influenced by both cultures. She has studied at the Gemological Institute of America, F.I.T., Parsons School of Design (Masters, 19th century French Jewelry) and Columbia University (Masters, Arts Administration).
